7 Best Places to Visit in Christmas 2023

Christmas is my favorite Holiday. Like, I’m not lying when I say that it could be Christmas the 365 days of the year, and I’d be the happiest. It’s a time when we look forward to our loved ones and family. While packing up to save hundreds of dollars on hotel booking services, you must also ensure that you Go Places For Christmas to have the greatest Holidays! That’s why I’m sharing the best places to visit at Christmas that can make your trip memorable.

Keep in mind that this is a “cold country” edition, which means I’m sharing destinations where you can live the perfect “white Christmas”, even if you travel alone. Because, as you may know, this is a blog where we focus a lot on solo traveling. And, Christmas being an emotional season for many, I try to share places where you can have a great day without feeling lonely.

Note: These countries aren’t rated in any particular order, so there’s no better place than another.

So, with nothing more to say, let’s get into it!

The Best Places to Visit in Christmas 2023

New York City, USA

Christmas in New York City

It’s not new that New York City is on this list. The magical nights during the Holidays, with the tallest Christmas Tree in the world located in the Rockefeller Center, and the snow embracing the streets. New York City is known for being one the best destinations to spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

I mean, waiting for the New Year in Times Square has to be on your life bucket list!

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam has been one of my favorite destinations since I read The Fault in Our when I was in High School. And Christmas it’s one of the best seasons to visit it. The lights in the streets, the white streets covered by the snow. The cute winter outfits you see when walking around, and the beautiful cafes make everything in this city a dream when you visit it at Christmas.

Prague, Czech Republic

Prague is a city that’s beautiful during every season or Holiday, and should be on your bucket list not only at Christmas but anytime! This wonderful city full of buildings that spread history and art is a great option if you’re looking for a romantic Christmas.

The capital of the Czech Republic is an amazing travel destination if you’re in your 20s, thanks to its tourist attractions, beautiful stays, and the people around it! Plus, who wouldn’t like to see a giant Christmas tree in front of a Castle?

Quebec City, Canada

A Christmas with European vibes without having to travel 18 hrs in a plane. That’s how I would describe Christmas in Quebec City.

It’s not new that I want to move to Canada someday and create there the life of my dreams, and Christmas is one undeniable reason for my pros. Quebec City is full of magic during the nights, with lights and Christmas markets, especially the German Market, that will make you feel inside a Holiday Movie.

Quebec City is a must-have in your Christmas Travel Bucket List!

Vienna, Austria

Vienna in Christmas

Vienna is another great option if you’re traveling in your 20s. This city is full of art and magic!

You can do many affordable things during your stay in one of the best places to visit at Christmas, such as having a hot drink in a cozy cafe and listening to the choir in a baroque church. I personally suggest you stay in an Airbnb, instead of a hotel, since this last one could cost you more than $130 for 2 people; while you can find departments between $22 and $70 per night.

Budapest, Hungary

best places to visit during christmas

Budapest is another city that’s, by itself, one of the greatest destinations for women in their 20s. So imagine how great it is to visit it during the Christmas season.

This Hungarian city has amazing picture spots, magical Christmas markets, and a bunch of things to do if you’re traveling on a budget to this country. Same as in Vienna, I’d recommend to rent an Airbnb instead of a hotel, because of how high prices go during the Holiday Season in hotels.

Colmar, France

christmas places to visit

Colmar is anyone’s biggest dream at Christmas. The antique buildings of this city and the Holiday decorations make this city a dreamy Disney Christmas scene.

Colmar’s Christmas markets MUST (yeah, I’m emphasizing a lot here) be on your list as one of the best Christmas destinations. But, of course, for that, you’d have to go and live it for yourself! And I’m telling you, my French teacher mentioned this destination and I fell in love with it from the very first picture!

So, this is it! These are the best places to visit at Christmas if you’re looking for a magical white Christmas to spend alone (or with a loved one).

Now, let me know in the comments!! Have you ever visited any of these? Which one is already on your bucket list?
