Life, especially in your twenties, can feel like a flurry of duties, expectations, and uncertainty. Picture the quarter-life crisis as a moment in your twenties when life suddenly feels like a jigsaw puzzle missing a few important pieces. It’s that time when you’re out of school, starting your career, or maybe even switching tracks, and you’re hit with questions like, “What’s my purpose?” or “Am I on the right path?”
It’s like standing at the crossroads of growing up and wondering which way to go. But don’t worry, it’s not a crisis in the doom-and-gloom sense; it’s more like an opportunity for self-discovery and personal growth.

I know it’s confusing.. somehow we have to manage between being lost and growing, is that even possible? Yes, if you follow the correct steps.
Finding yourself in your 20s is not a “let’s go from lost to our best version in a month”… ugh, I wish! Finding yourself is a process full of shadow work, self-care, journaling, and a lot more. So, yeah, you might discover who you are in a month, but will you become that person simultaneously? it’s going to depend on you.
And I’m not saying depend on you as if the harder you work, the faster you’ll become your best version. I’m talking about “how lost are you?” Everybody’s journey is completely different, and we shouldn’t compare where we are to where someone else is.
For instance, I’m still in this process. Every day I find something I know I have to work on, or I discover there’s a part of my personality I want to change because it’s keeping me behind.

Don’t stick yourself to your goals. Did you change your dream career? It’s okay. Did want to grow in your job and now want to work from home? It’s okay too! As humans, changes are inevitable. So don’t think you have to become that person you always wanted to be if, in reality, that perspective is changing.

I go to therapy at least twice a week, because of all the generational trauma I’ve been dealing with. By doing this, I’m discovering parts of myself I hid because I didn’t feel comfortable, and now they are essential in my self-development journey.
Embrace Change
Acknowledging change and flexibility during a quarter-life crisis is like opening a huge door to personal transformation and unknown possibilities. This phase can be defined by reflection, in which you doubt your decisions and the course you’ve chosen. Rather than rejecting this journey, welcome change so you can find encouragement for growth.
Oh, trust me, I touched rock bottom during this crisis. I lost myself in so many ways, and it was so hard to find it, just because I was afraid of change. Once I said to my therapist “I don’t know who I am, and I’m tired of feeling this way” I started seeing some progress in the person I wanted to become.
I found out what I wanted to do, the things I used to like when I was a kid are now part of my daily life. Rejection of that crisis, of that inner child that just screams “Let me out! I want to make my dreams come true!” were the things holding me back in life.
Practice Patience
Picture your life’s journey as a thrilling road trip filled with scenic detours and unexpected pit stops. Remember that success and fulfillment aren’t just a few miles along a straight highway. They’re more like wonderful hideaways concealed among twisting roads and hidden trails. And, patience is going to be your BFF on this trip.
Be patient with yourself and the person you want to become because this is not something you’re going to overcome overnight. I’m not going to describe this journey with rainbows and happy faces since it is not. It is full of crying, moments of failure, feeling like giving up, and lots of negative emotions that are part of personal growth.
So, practice a little patience, hold yourself, and become your best motivator. It’s going to be you and yourself only on this journey. Embrace it.
