What to Wear in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is one of the most visited Caribbean Islands. And without doubt, because its beach views are of envy for many places! However, because it’s a tropical island, many people ask themselves what to wear in the Dominican Republic.

That’s why your favorite island girl is here to save you! As a local, I know all the tips and tricks to have the greatest outfits, but also be at peace with the weather. (hum, you’re welcome 😀)

Now, if there’s something you have to keep in mind when packing: the Dominican Republic has the craziest weather! You can wake up with the sunniest and warmest day, and you could have rain by the end of it… So, here are some tips when packing!

  • Try to come up with outfit ideas that include comfortable sneakers, especially if you’re going sightseeing.
  • You don’t have to worry about getting cold because most of the time it’ll rain, but still have a warm temperature.
  • Use waterproof makeup!
  • If don’t have a 70 SPF, I suggest you get one, the sun on the island can be pretty aggressive. I highly recommend Sun Bum’s 70 SPF, it’s my all-time favorite.

Note: Don’t be scared by me talking BS about the weather, its craziness won’t affect the fun and great beach days!

Also, keep in mind this is a packing list for 1 or 2 weeks in the country, if you’re spending more time you may add as many of the items as you wish!

Alrighty, are you ready? Let’s get into it!
